In our commitment to looking after our planet we continuously review our goals to match our environmental responsibilities. Our first sustainability report was published back in 2022 and since then we have made significant changes to move forward and make a meaningful change.

In 2025, ACS Group re-baselined its carbon footprint to align with the ISO-14064-1 standard and the BSI Net Zero Pathway. This shift reflects our commitment to transparency and measurable progress. With enhanced data accuracy and evolving stakeholder expectations, we’ve embraced a more rigorous framework to guide our journey toward Net Zero by 2035.

2024
2024 was a year of integration and outreach. ACS transitioned to an all-electric vehicle fleet, reducing Scope 1 emissions and improving air quality. We also deepened customer engagement by embedding sustainability into contract reviews, delivery metrics, and product choices. Our peer group sessions continued to thrive, reinforcing ACS’s role as a sustainability mentor across Yorkshire.

Building on our momentum, 2023 saw ACS Group expand its internal initiatives and gain external recognition. We were nominated for multiple sustainability awards and hosted peer groups in partnership with the West Yorkshire Combined Authority, helping other businesses kickstart or revive their green efforts. Our role as a regional sustainability leader began to take shape.

Our Sustainability Manager
Tom Taylor, our Sustainability Manager, leads ACS’s environmental initiatives.
His role spans strategy development, customer collaboration, and supply chain engagement to reduce carbon emissions and promote sustainable practices.
With a Business Sustainability Management qualification from Cambridge University, Tom brings both expertise and passion to his work. He’s actively involved in the community, having led peer groups and spoken on sustainability panels.
His holistic approach ensures ACS supports not only its own goals but also those of its customers and partners.

ISO 14064 VERIFICATION
ACS Group currently follows The Pathway to Net Zero through BSI Standards, The Pathway leverages best practices from multiple global sustainability standards to drive a three-phase journey to net zero. The verification process is part of the ISO 14060 family of standards, which provide internationally recognised guidance for quantifying, monitoring, and reporting greenhouse gas emissions and removals. By aligning with ISO 14064, we ensure our environmental reporting is transparent, credible, and consistent with global best practices. This commitment reflects our dedication to reducing our carbon footprint and supporting our customers and partners in achieving their sustainability goals.
